Computing

The core of computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work, and how to use this knowledge through programming.

At Berrywood, we believe that high-quality computing lessons inspire pupils to prepare for a rapidly changing world through technology. Our high-quality computing curriculum is designed to enable all pupils to explore three areas of computing: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy (Online Safety). With technology playing such a significant role in society today, we believe that ‘Computational Thinking’ is a skill pupils must be taught to participate effectively and safely in a digital world. At Berrywood, our computing curriculum endeavours to introduce pupils to a wide range of technology, including laptops, iPads and interactive whiteboards, allowing them to practise, improve and embed their skills.
