  • Environmental Learning Leader

    Berrywood is a large three form primary school set in nine acres of wonderful grounds.  Over the past four years, stunning learning and growing environments have been created to fulfil the concept of ‘a school within a garden’. We have our own substantial woodlands, a pond, allotments, beautiful show gardens and so much more.  If you are not yet familiar with what has been established at Berrywood, then a look at our  film is highly recommended.

    We are seeking someone with environmental expertise to inspire our pupils in the wonders of nature and to instil the values of sustainability.  You will be an educator with a strong track record of achievement; a fantastic role model for pupils who will gain the respect and admiration of our school community.  Crucially, the successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to articulate a powerful vision and clear plan for how the brilliant work of our previous incumbent will be developed.

    More specifically, we are looking for someone who can offer some or all of these:-

    • A Forest School qualification or relevant/equivalent experience;
    • Professional standard horticultural (especially produce) skills, knowledge and experience;
    • Relevant scientific background, qualifications or experience;
    • Excellent organisational skills and communication.

    There is commitment and excitement at Berrywood around appointing someone exceptionally well-suited to this role.  A degree of flexibility and negotiation are anticipated regarding contract structure and salary. For example, applicants from the teaching and support staff pay ranges are welcome. Discussions relating to these matters could begin during the early stages of the recruitment process.

  • Midday Supervisory Assistant

    We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and friendly Midday Supervisory Assistants to join our hardworking and friendly team at Berrywood Primary School. We have 640 wonderful children; stunning grounds and some recently completed building works that have transformed much of our learning

    Contract type: permanent, part-time (1.25 hours per day) term time only

    Salary: Grade A (£16,395 – £16,647)

  • Playwork Assistant

    An exciting opportunity has arisen at Berrywood Primary School for someone to join our extremely popular Berries Breakfast and After Schoool Club team. The team comprises of 15 friendly and supportive staff who all work hard to ensure that the children in their care can develop personally, socially and educationally in a safe, caring and challenging environment. There will also be an opportunity for you to work at our holiday club should you wish.

    The successful candidate will:-

    • have good interpersonal skills;
    • be flexible;
    • be self motivated and able to work using their own initiative;
    • be trustworthy, friendly and approachable;
    • appreciate the need for confidentiality;
    • be calm when working under pressure;
    • have a sense of humour – essential.

    Hours available:

    Breakfast Club (7:45 am – 8:45 am) Daily

    After School Club (3:00 pm – 5:30 pm) Friday

    Salary – HCC EHCC Grade C (£17,224 – £18,794 pro-rata)
